Nordmøre Museum

The Nordmøre Museum is the regional history museum for the Nordmøre district, covering the area's past from the Stone Age through the fishing and trading era to the present. The collection spans natural history, maritime heritage, folk culture, and local archaeology, spread across several buildings including the Klippfisk warehouse on Innlandet. Exhibits are in Norwegian with some English labelling.

For anyone with a deeper interest in the region's history — how the Norse settled this coastline, how the klippfisk trade shaped social structures, what the oil industry has meant for western Norway — the Nordmøre Museum provides more context than a quick harbour walk alone. Allow a couple of hours if you plan to move between the different buildings.
