National Museum

Address Plac Powstańców Warszawy 5, 50-153 Wrocław

The main art museum of Wrocław, in a neo-Renaissance Prussian-era building next to the Panorama of Racławice. The collection is one of the strongest in Poland, with particularly good holdings of medieval Silesian sacred art (a wing of Gothic Madonnas, altarpieces and crucifixes salvaged from war-ruined churches across Lower Silesia), Polish painting from the 17th to 20th centuries, and an ethnographic collection of Silesian folk art.

Plan an hour to two hours; a combined ticket includes admission to the Panorama and the Four Domes Pavilion (which houses Polish post-war modernist art).
