The City Garden is Tver's central pause button, a green strip between the old ceremonial centre and the river. Paths lead from the palace toward viewpoints over the Volga, with benches, kiosks, and the usual Russian park mixture of families, pensioners, and teenagers drifting through.
It is not a grand destination by itself, but it makes the city work for visitors. Use it as the hinge between the palace, the drama theatre, the embankment, and the bridges.
