White Trinity Church is one of the oldest surviving churches in Tver, a low whitewashed building away from the main riverfront route. It lacks the dramatic setting of the palace or embankments, but it gives a better sense of pre-imperial Tver than the planned classical centre does.
The exterior is the main reason to visit: simple walls, small domes, and the feeling of a neighbourhood church that has outlasted several urban plans. Combine it with a walk through the quieter western streets.
