The Tver Drama Theatre faces one of the central squares near the City Garden, giving the surrounding streets a properly provincial Russian theatre-town feel. The building is more interesting as part of the ensemble than as an architectural pilgrimage.
If you read Russian, check the programme. Regional theatres can be excellent value and often reveal more about a city than another museum, even when the production is not aimed at tourists.
