A rare sight in Andalusia: a fully enclosed Castilian-style plaza mayor, built at the end of the 17th century and almost unchanged since. The arcaded square once hosted bullfights, autos-da-fé, and horse races; now it holds a daily market in the morning and a row of tapas bars round the colonnade in the evening. Sit out under the arches with a glass of Montilla and watch the square fill up after dark.
