A small, dark mountain lake set in a rocky cirque at 2,540 metres, directly below the Attelas cable car station. In winter it freezes solid and is buried under metres of snow; in summer it is a 20-minute walk down from Attelas and one of the easiest high lakes in the area to reach.
The surrounding scree slopes and a high-altitude restaurant make the lake a worthwhile midpoint on a longer Verbier-to-Tortin hike. Wild swimming is possible but the water is brutal — rarely above 8°C even in August.
