The cobbled square at the heart of Verbier is the village's main meeting point — shops, bakeries, the tourist office, and the bus stop for Le Châble all open onto it. In winter it fills with après-skiers from late afternoon; in summer it is the start point for most of the village's walking trails.
The Christmas market in December and the festival fringe events in late July turn the square into the resort's centre of gravity. Even off-season it is the easiest place to get your bearings on arrival.
