Verbier in winter is largely about skiing and snowboarding the 4 Vallées network — 410 km of pistes, the longest in Switzerland. In summer the same lifts open for hikers, mountain bikers, and paragliders, with the village transforming into a high-altitude base for the Val de Bagnes. The Verbier Festival in late July and early August brings classical music to the mountains.
