Tanfield Railway

Tanfield Railway is a heritage railway southwest of Newcastle, running steam trains between East Tanfield and Sunniside on operating days. The line has a long industrial history, with sections once worked by horses, rope haulage, and later steam locomotives.

The main collection of locomotives and rolling stock is at Marley Hill. It makes a good pairing with Beamish or other industrial-heritage stops in the region.
