The Dalriada is a bar and music venue on the High Street that has become a hub for Portobello's social life since the neighbourhood gentrified. Regular live music nights cover folk, Americana, and local bands; there are also quiz nights and other events that keep it active mid-week. The bar carries a decent selection of Scottish ales and whiskies; the food offering is simple but good. The venue has done much to make Portobello feel like a destination with an evening offer, not just a daytime beach excursion.
