Casa Museo Maria Enriqueta is a small museum in Coatepec dedicated to the poet Maria Enriqueta Camarillo, who was born here in 1872 and later lived in Mexico City, Cuba, Washington, DC, and Switzerland. The house mixes period rooms, decorative arts, literary displays, and local history.
It is best treated as part of a Coatepec day trip from Xalapa, especially if you are already coming for the town's coffee houses and colonial streets. The museum adds a quieter literary note to a visit that is otherwise usually built around coffee and the surrounding highlands.
