Kaná Museum of Science and Technology

The Kaná (formerly the Museo Interactivo de Xalapa) is Veracruz's main interactive science museum, with hands-on exhibits covering physics, biology, earth sciences, and technology. The museum is designed primarily for students and families, and the interactive exhibits — wind tunnels, electricity demonstrations, model ecosystems — are genuinely engaging rather than purely educational. It sits on the southern outskirts of the city, a taxi ride from the centre.

For visitors with children, Kaná makes a good half-day alongside the Museo de Antropología — the combination of ancient history and interactive science covers a broad range of interests and works well together. The museum is modern, well-maintained, and less crowded than many of its equivalents in larger Mexican cities.
