Parroquia Santa Maria Magdalena is Xico's main colonial church, founded in the 17th century and rebuilt with a restrained neoclassical and baroque exterior. The interior is the reason to go, with gilded trim, tiled vaults, and religious sculptures that make the short side trip from Xalapa feel worthwhile.
