Echo Canyon Trail is a popular but demanding hike on Camelback Mountain, with amazing views of Phoenix from its 2,700-foot summit. The trail is approximately one mile long and should only be attempted if you are physically up to the challenge. Speak with a park ranger about your experience level before heading out. Rescues are not uncommon here. The plant life and desert animals along the trail make it scenic as well as strenuous.
