Mosaic Templars Cultural Center

Museum of African American history on the site of Little Rock's Mosaic Templars headquarters

Mosaic Templars Cultural Center tells the story of African American life in Arkansas, using the history of the Mosaic Templars of America as its anchor. The fraternal organisation grew into a major Black business and social institution, and its former headquarters site now carries exhibitions on community, enterprise, civil rights, and everyday life.

It belongs on the same mental map as Little Rock Central High School and the city's civil rights landmarks, but it broadens the story beyond one famous crisis. Come here for a fuller sense of Black Little Rock: churches, clubs, businesses, newspapers, and the institutions people built for themselves.
