The River Market District is Little Rock's most animated neighbourhood — a stretch of blocks between the Arkansas River and Capitol Avenue that has been rebuilt since the 1990s as the city's entertainment and cultural centre. The Clinton Presidential Center, the Old State House, and the Historic Arkansas Museum are all here, along with the best concentration of restaurants and bars in the city.
The River Market itself is a covered market pavilion that hosts vendors on weekdays and a farmers' market on Saturdays. The two pavilions have been converted into a food court and event space. The riverfront park runs along the Arkansas River Trail, which connects to the Vogel Schwartz Sculpture Garden and the Big Dam Bridge — one of the longest pedestrian bridges in the country.
