East Sacramento

The most affluent residential neighbourhood in Sacramento, east of McKinley Park along J and K streets. East Sacramento was developed from the 1890s through the 1930s and has the city's densest concentration of Craftsman bungalows, California Spanish Revival homes, and mature street trees. The McKinley Park neighbourhood within it is centred on a Victorian-era park with a tennis centre, a duck pond, and a rose garden.

Fab 40s — the stretch of 40th through 49th streets in the residential heart of East Sacramento — is the postcard version of Sacramento domestic architecture. The neighbourhood is less tourist-oriented than Midtown but more pleasant to walk through, and the restaurants along J Street and Folsom Boulevard are consistently good.
