An unusual museum covering the industrial and mechanical history of California's agricultural transformation. The exhibits focus on the machinery that made large-scale Central Valley farming possible: early tractors, combine harvesters, irrigation equipment, and the massive packing and processing machinery of the canning industry. The scale of some exhibits is striking — there are machines here that look more like ships than farm equipment.
The Central Valley produces roughly 25 percent of America's food supply, and the Museum of Science and Curiosity (which absorbed the agricultural exhibits) helps explain why and how that happened. Good for children curious about how things work; surprisingly interesting for adults who have never thought about the mechanics of producing food at industrial scale.
