The Missouri River forms the northern boundary of Kansas City's original urban core, and the bluffs on the north bank offer the classic long views of the downtown skyline — the art deco towers, the T-Mobile Center, and the Kauffman Center in the distance. The North Kansas City riverside park, accessed via the Berkley Riverfront Park on the Missouri side, is the most accessible viewpoint.
Berkley Riverfront Park, developed in the 2010s on a former industrial brownfield, now has walking and cycling trails, outdoor event spaces, and a river overlook platform. On summer evenings the park fills with runners and cyclists. The views of the downtown skyline are best in the late afternoon when the setting sun hits the western faces of the buildings. The River Market neighborhood, a short walk inland, is the natural next stop.
