Temple Lot is a grassy historic site in Independence tied to the early Latter Day Saint movement. Joseph Smith dedicated the land in 1831, and several churches connected to the movement still regard the site as significant.
There is not a large monument here, so the value is in the history rather than spectacle. It is best paired with the Truman sites and other Independence stops east of Kansas City.
