Mandalay Bay

South Strip tropical mega-resort with eleven-acre pool complex

Address 3950 Las Vegas Blvd South

Mandalay Bay anchors the south end of the Strip and leans tropical: an eleven-acre pool complex with a wave pool, a real-sand "beach", a lazy river, and a separate adults-only Moorea Beach Club. The resort also houses the Shark Reef aquarium, the House of Blues concert venue, and the Mandalay Bay Events Center which hosts concerts and UFC fights.

The 43-storey gold-glass tower is connected by an interior promenade to Delano and the Four Seasons, which both share the building. Walk all the way through to the convention centre side and you can catch the free tram up to Excalibur. Decent dining options on site include Border Grill, Stripsteak by Michael Mina, and Lupo by Wolfgang Puck.

A story
The Mandalay Bay Beach was the largest sand-and-wave pool in any Vegas resort when it opened — eleven acres of artificial coastline that produces six-foot waves on a regular cycle. The sand was barged in from California.
