Mirage Volcano

Free nightly eruption show on the Las Vegas Strip

Address The Mirage, 3400 Las Vegas Blvd. South

The Mirage Volcano was one of the original free spectacles on the Las Vegas Strip — a full-scale volcano erupting with real fire, water, and a booming soundtrack right on the sidewalk. The show ran nightly for decades and became one of the most recognizable landmarks on the Boulevard.

Note that The Mirage closed in July 2024 and is being demolished to make way for a new Hard Rock Hotel and Guitar-shaped tower. The volcano is gone. If you visited Las Vegas any time between 1989 and 2024, you probably saw it whether you meant to or not.
