Vesper Bar

James Bond-themed cocktail bar at the Cosmopolitan, named for Ian Fleming's original martini recipe

Address 3708 Las Vegas Boulevard South (The Cosmopolitan)

Vesper Bar sits in the Cosmopolitan's casino level and takes its name from Ian Fleming's gin-vodka-Lillet Blanc martini from Casino Royale. The theme is not played for kitsch — the bar is dark, sleek, and low-ceilinged, with a serious cocktail programme that includes a rotating roster of classic variations alongside the house specialities.

The Vesper itself is made properly with Kina Lillet substitute; the other cocktails draw from the classic canon and are well-executed. The bar is relatively compact and fills up on weekend evenings, but unlike many Strip bars there is almost always a way to get a drink at the counter. One of the better cocktail bars on the Strip without being the most expensive.
