Oaks Park opened in 1905 as a trolley park and remains one of Portland's old-fashioned family attractions. The riverside park has a wooden carousel from 1912, kid-friendly rides, and a small roller coaster.
Its roller skating rink is part of the draw, with regular public sessions and occasional live organ music. It is more local tradition than theme-park spectacle, which is part of its charm.
