The historic core of Tucumán is compact and walkable, with most of its main sights clustered within a few blocks of Plaza Independencia. The Casa Histórica de la Independencia is the obvious draw, but the city's cathedral, government palace, and provincial fine arts museum are all within easy strolling distance. Beyond the centre, the leafy Parque 9 de Julio offers room to breathe, and the football stadiums on the city's edges make for atmospheric outings on match days.
