The Casa do Olodum on the Largo do Pelourinho is the headquarters of the bloco-afro that did more than any other to put Salvador's drumming culture on the world stage. The Tuesday-night open-air rehearsals on the square in front are one of the city's most reliably good live-music events.
The Casa runs a school and a shop selling Olodum merchandise; tickets for the Tuesday rehearsals and the Carnaval blocos are sold here.
