The harbour where every boat to the Uros, Taquile, and Amantani islands departs. It is about two kilometres east of the Plaza de Armas — a short taxi ride or a 25-minute walk down the long Avenida El Sol. Wooden boats and small motor launches crowd the docks from dawn until mid-morning, when most of the day's tour departures leave.
Beyond its function as a transit point, the harbour is a good place to feel the size of the lake — the water stretches away to the horizon, with islands floating like silhouettes in the distance. Pelicans, gulls, and the occasional Andean cormorant work the shoreline. Cheap food stalls behind the dock serve trucha (lake trout) and quinoa soup for early-morning departures.
