The Taiyuan Botanical Garden in the southwestern part of the city is a large landscaped space with themed plant collections, glasshouses, and walking paths popular with families and weekend visitors. It is not a world-class botanical garden, but it provides a green respite from the city and the spring blossom season (April–May) is genuinely attractive. The rose garden section, which peaks in June, draws visitors specifically for the flowering display.
The garden is adjacent to the broader western development zone and is an easy stop combined with a trip to the nearby Jinci Temple and Tianlongshan — the three sites form a natural day out in the southwestern part of Taiyuan.
