Yongzuo Temple is best known for the Twin Pagodas, two tall Ming-era brick towers that rise above Taiyuan's southeastern side. Their symmetry makes them one of the city's defining images, and the temple grounds around them offer a calmer historical counterweight to central Taiyuan's traffic and industry.
The pagodas are the reason to come, but the surrounding halls, courtyards, and old trees make the visit more than a quick photograph. It is a strong stop for travellers interested in Shanxi architecture, especially if Jinci Temple has already set the tone for the region's older religious sites.
