A short pedestrianised stretch of Wuyi Road, west of Cuihu Park, has been turned into a dedicated street-food lane. Around forty stalls and small shops sell Yunnan snacks — rice noodles in a dozen varieties, baba pancakes, deep-fried potato cakes, grilled tofu, rose-petal cakes, ham buns, and the spicy snail noodles that the southern lowlands are known for.
It is touristy — the prices are noticeably higher than the equivalent stalls at the city's wholesale markets — but the range and the convenience are unmatched, and the quality is generally decent. Best in the late afternoon and early evening; some stalls don't open until 4 p.m. Cash and Chinese mobile pay are accepted, foreign cards generally are not.
