Tawaheen al-Hawa

Tawaheen al-Hawa — "windmills" in Arabic — is a long-established restaurant in the hills of west Amman, named for the windmills that once stood at this elevation and run from a converted stone building with a terrace that overlooks the city. The views from the terrace across west Amman are among the best available from any restaurant in the city, and the kitchen serves traditional Jordanian and Levantine food to a consistently high standard.

The menu covers mezze, grilled meats, and regional dishes. Mansaf is available in the proper traditional preparation. The terrace is the main draw — book a table outside and arrive before sunset to watch the city lights come on across the hills below.
