Atatürk Park

Address South Bishkek

The largest park in the southern half of the city, named for the Turkish founder Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in recognition of long-standing Turkish-Kyrgyz cultural ties. The park has shaded paths, a small lake, a children's playground, and a striking bronze of Atatürk on a high plinth at the main entrance.

A pleasant low-key place to walk if you are staying in the southern parts of Bishkek. The Friday flea market on the eastern edge is good for second-hand books and Soviet odds and ends.
