Manas International Airport Aviation Park

Address Manas Airport, 25 km north of Bishkek

A small open-air display of decommissioned Soviet aircraft outside the terminal at Manas International — a Yak-40, a Tupolev Tu-154, and several MiG fighter jets. The park is essentially a roadside curiosity but worth a stop if you have time at the airport.

Manas itself has a curious recent history: between 2001 and 2014 the US Air Force operated a major transit centre here, the main fuel hub for operations in Afghanistan. The Russians ran a parallel base just down the road. The arrangement was awkward and ended when the lease was not renewed.
