A small but charmingly old-school natural history museum attached to the Kyrgyz National Academy of Sciences. The displays — taxidermied snow leopards, ibex, golden eagles, marmots, reptiles from the Fergana valley — have not been substantially updated since the 1970s and have the slightly time-warped feel of a Soviet provincial museum.
For anyone heading into the Tien Shan mountains, the hour spent here is a useful preview of the wildlife you may (or may not) actually see. Children love it.
