Mehan Garden is one of Manila's older green spaces, laid out in the Spanish colonial period as a botanical garden and later named for American-era park superintendent John C. Mehan. Its location near City Hall and the old walls of Intramuros makes it easy to fold into a central Manila walk.
The garden is not large, but it gives a useful pause between heavier historic stops. Go for the shade, the old civic setting, and the sense of how Manila once treated public gardens as part of the formal city.
