Plaza Moriones is a narrow green strip along Moriones Street, with monuments and shade in one of Manila's busiest old districts. It has political weight as well as local use: the first Philippine Labor Day celebrations were held here, and the plaza is still designated as a freedom park for peaceful assembly.
