A handsome corner bakery and café in the CBD, brothers Mark and Anthony Daci's flagship since 2008. The pastry case is the reason to come: laminated croissants and kouign-amann, an excellent lemon tart, almond-and-pear danishes, fruit tarts that look like still-life paintings. The all-day breakfast menu (eggs, charcuterie boards, smoked salmon plates) is reliable and the coffee is solid.
The dining room — high ceilings, tall windows, dark wood — is one of the prettiest in central Hobart and a comfortable place to sit out a wet afternoon. Take a pastry to go and walk it down to the waterfront for the best ten-minute breakfast in town.
