Wiltener Basilika

Rococo pilgrimage basilica in Wilten with a bright, ornate interior

Wiltener Basilika is one of Innsbruck's most exuberant church interiors, all pale stucco, gilding, frescoes, and theatrical Rococo detail. It stands in Wilten, south of the old town, close enough to combine with the Grassmayr Bell Museum or the Bergisel area.

The basilica is still an active place of worship, so visit quietly and check service times if you want to look around. It is a good stop when you have already seen the Golden Roof and want a different side of Innsbruck's religious architecture.
