Baku Eye

The Baku Eye is a sixty-metre ferris wheel near the southern end of the Baku Boulevard, opened in 2014 to coincide with the city's hosting of the Eurovision Song Contest. The thirty enclosed gondolas turn slowly enough that a single revolution takes about half an hour.

It is not the most dramatic ferris wheel in the world but the view across the harbour, the bay, and the lights of the Flame Towers is good. Best timed for sunset, when the sky over the Caspian goes pink and the Flame Towers begin their light display.
