Sabir Garden

The Sabir Garden, a small public park immediately outside the western wall of the Old City, has at its centre a bronze statue of the satirical poet Mirza Alakbar Sabir, who wrote in the early twentieth century. The sculpture itself dates from 1922 and is one of the oldest pieces of public statuary in the city.

The park is small but well-tended and a useful place to sit between Old City and Boulevard explorations. The hammam dome of the old Beylar mosque can be seen above the wall behind the statue.
