Palace of Happiness

The Palace of Happiness is a Neo-Gothic landmark in central Baku, built in 1912 by oil baron Murtuza Mukhtarov for his wife, Liza. Polish architect Józef Plośko designed the building, giving it a silhouette that stands apart from Baku's more usual stone mansions.

It is best appreciated from outside as part of a walk through the city's early-20th-century oil-boom architecture.
