A second show cave a short walk from La Merveilleuse, sometimes called La Grotte de Dinant. The galleries here are smaller but the formations are particularly white and crystalline; the highlight is a single chamber filled with thousands of needle-like stalactites that look like a frozen explosion. A modest audio-visual presentation at the start of the tour explains the geology of the limestone Ardennes.
Open the same months as La Merveilleuse and on a similar schedule. Some packages cover both caves at a discount; ask at the tourist office. Children find the second cave more atmospheric than the first; serious geology enthusiasts should visit both.
