Maribo is Lolland's cathedral town, set on a peninsula between two arms of Maribo Sø — one of Denmark's largest lakes. The cathedral, a late-Gothic brick church that survived the Reformation largely intact, stands at the centre of a small but well-kept town. The lakeside setting gives Maribo an unhurried charm, and the surrounding countryside is worth exploring by bike.
