Kartäuserkirche was once the church of Cologne's Carthusian monastery. After the monastery was closed in 1794, the building was used for secular purposes, including as a warehouse and military hospital, before being restored for worship in the 20th century.
The church is still active, but visitors interested in Cologne's quieter historic churches should look for the reconstructed interior and its notable pipe organ with glockenspiel.
