St. Cecilia's is one of Cologne's twelve Romanesque churches and now houses the Museum Schnütgen's medieval art collection. The basilica keeps traces of earlier Ottonian work and a 12th-century tympanum, so the building itself is part of the visit rather than just a shell for the museum.
It sits close to the old centre and works well as part of a slow walk between Cologne's Romanesque churches and smaller museums.
