The Dominican Convent in Fira was founded in 1595, making it the oldest Catholic nunnery in Greece. The present building dates mainly from 1864, while the church, dedicated to the Virgin of the Rosary, was consecrated in 1825 and later repaired after the 1956 earthquake. Inside, the sanctuary holds an icon of Our Lady of the Rosary flanked by statues of St. Joseph.
