Faros Lighthouse

Faros Lighthouse stands at the southwestern tip of Thira, where the island drops toward open water. Built in the 1890s, it is one of the older lighthouses in Greece, but the real reason to come is the view.

The headland is a strong sunset spot away from the busiest caldera villages. Bring a layer if the wind is up; there is little shelter out here.
