Sándor Palace

Sándor Palace is the official residence and workplace of Hungary's president, standing beside Buda Castle. Built in the early 19th century, it was heavily damaged in World War II and later restored to its Neoclassical form.

You will usually see it from the outside, so treat it as part of the Castle District walk rather than a full museum visit. The guards and the palace frontage add a formal counterpoint to the busier castle terraces nearby.
