Basilio Cascella Civic Museum

The Basilio Cascella Civic Museum is dedicated to the Cascella family, a dynasty of Abruzzese artists spanning four generations who were among the most significant regional figures in Italian art between the late 19th and late 20th centuries. The museum's namesake, Basilio Cascella (1860–1950), was a painter and ceramicist known for his bold decorative work and his illustrations for Italian literary periodicals. His sons and grandsons continued the artistic tradition in different media.

The collection includes paintings, ceramic work, posters, and decorative pieces that document the evolution of Italian visual culture across a turbulent century. The museum is compact but well-curated and offers a less-visited alternative to the d'Annunzio house for those interested in the cultural life of the region. It also provides useful context for understanding why Pescara, despite being a modern city, developed a significant artistic tradition alongside its commercial and beach resort identity.
